The New Age of Home Theater

With so much changing in technology these days, home theaters are no longer consisting of a simple seating arrangement, a tattered screen and an old-school projector. Blu-ray players, 3D technology, high-resolution screens and more are contributing to the thorough modernization of a well-appreciated industry and we’ve got the latest!

Nowadays, you have the option of 3D movies and picture. We’ve covered this briefly in previous posts, citing the slowly growing availability of 3D Blu-ray players and the release of 3D DVDs. Remember if you go this route, you’ll need to be sure you’ve invested in 3D glasses for the family!

Next up are LED projectors. These are so far from the ancient versions we all remember during grade school. Many people prefer large image displays for their home theater—measuring 70 to 200 inches. High-intensity LED projectors are “lampless,” meaning they run cooler and more efficiently than traditional projects. They also have a longer shelf life and a clearer picture on the screen.

Internet streaming is another home theater accessory that’s growing like a weed. With the aid of Netflix, Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and other media outlets, individuals, groups and families alike are enjoying more media from more resources. Each of these Internet-enabled devices brings more options for media watching and activities to the big screen right in your home.
