The Color Wheel Part 2 of 2
This media room is bold! Orange is most certainly the color here, as it’s seen from the ceiling to the walls, the artwork, the sofa and even the flooring. The key to creating a room that’s focused on all one color is to break it up with a few thoughtfully placed pieces, like these small tables, the light fixture, the mirror and the art. By bringing in subtle hints of complimentary shades, the main hue becomes a statement color rather than an overwhelming one.
For a casual yet colorful touch, focus on only one or two main items in this room. This media space is created from a taupe color base and is refreshingly brightened up with turquoise curtains and a sofa. Both of these are very close in color, if not the same color, creating unity even though they are the only bright objects in the room.
Whether you simply can’t decide on a color you like or you’re a minimalist at heart, white is always a great go-to resource. It’s chic and classy and will never go out of style. Plus, it’s easy to match—white is white is white! This media room changes things up just slightly with cream-colored sofas, but an all-white setup can be crisp and airy. Just don’t serve any red wine!
